Keyboarding
- K-6 currently once per cycle
- Parents are very supportive of computer instruction at lower levels
- Tough sell to eliminate any computer instruction
- Scheduling concerns
- Is attention span sufficient at lower levels
- Older students see the potential benefits of keyboarding as a skill
- Logistical efforts to modify the curriculum and facilities to achieve a semester course may be overwhelming
- School visits/discussions with districts who have keyboarding at the elementary level
- Are we properly equipped to provide keyboarding without adding computer labs.
- Survey community, provide statistics and research.
- Long range plan, communicated effectively, including community members and students as stakeholders.
